In order to prevent the spread of diphtheria infection, in case of its importation into the territory of the region, and in order to increase the coverage of preventive vaccinations of the adult population, the State Institution "TMO of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Kharkiv region" invites you to be vaccinated against diphtheria and tetanus in our institution. 

Vaccination is carried out with diphtheria and tetanus vaccine (adsorbed, with reduced antigen content) - ADP-M; manufacturer - Indian pharmaceutical company "Biological E. Limited".

The purpose of the vaccination is to create antitoxic immunity against diphtheria and tetanus, the presence of which virtually eliminates the risk of severe diphtheria and helps to reduce the incidence.

Diphtheria is an acute infectious disease with an airborne transmission mechanism characterized by local fibrotic inflammation (mainly of the mucous membranes of the oropharynx) and general intoxication with predominant damage to the cardiovascular and nervous systems, and kidneys. The causative agent of the disease is diphtheria bacillus (Corynebacterium). The source of infection is a sick person or a carrier of Corynebacterium diphtheria, which secrete toxigenic strains of the pathogen.

It is important to diagnose the disease in a timely manner. After all, its clinical manifestations are similar to sore throat and infectious mononucleosis. Diphtheria is most often manifested by the formation of a dense film and swelling of the mucous membranes, which blocks the airways and often leads to death. Toxic damage to the cardiovascular and nervous system and secondary infections can also be fatal. The danger of the disease is characterized by high mortality, in 50 cases out of 1000.
