Viral hepatitis A is an acute infectious viral liver disease with a fecal-oral mechanism of transmission. A person can become infected by drinking contaminated water and food or by using household items contaminated with the virus.
The disease begins acutely, with fever, nausea, and vomiting, accompanied by jaundice (yellowing of the skin and sclerae) and darkening of the urine.
To avoid infection with the hepatitis A virus, follow simple rules of non-specific prevention:
- Use boiled or bottled water for drinking.
- Before eating vegetables, fruits, and berries, they should be washed with water and poured over boiling water.
- Strictly comply with sanitary standards in the preparation of food by canteen workers and persons of the outfit.
- Strictly follow the rules of personal hygiene - be sure to wash your hands with soap and water before eating, and after each visit to the toilet.
- Do not swim in prohibited places.
- When swimming in water bodies, do not swallow water, take a hygienic shower after swimming.
- Do not self-medicate. At the first signs of the disease, immediately consult a doctor!
Take care of your health and the health of your children!
