The use of emotional and volitional mobilization techniques to perform a combat mission

Mental self-regulation is carried out in a combination of its energetic, dynamic, and social aspects. A person does not automatically switch from one activity to another, but consciously, taking into account the social situation, the importance of the operations performed, the possible results of their actions, etc.


The process of emotional and volitional self-regulation is based on three main principles:


 - relaxation


- visualisation;


- self-hypnosis.


The effectiveness of emotional and volitional self-regulation methods lies in the fact that they help a soldier to cope with the difficulties of mental functioning in modern combat, maintain combat capability, and successfully complete a combat mission. Therefore, practical psychologists teach servicemen to apply these techniques to reduce the impact of negative factors on the psyche, to quickly establish normal mental functioning after exposure to stressors of modern combat.
