Despite the strict statute that regulates everyday life and activities, disciplinary measures, and punishments, it would be naive to expect that the army does not have various kinds of misconduct, violations of the statute and discipline, or even the most serious criminal offenses in non-wartime. All abnormal situations and undesirable behavior burden the functioning of the army in peacetime, and in martial law can cause disproportionate damage, directly and indirectly jeopardizing the achievement of planned goals and operations.
The use of alcohol and drugs is considered to be an undesirable behavior, which is understandable for several reasons. Alcohol is known to have anxiolytic properties: it reduces feelings of anxiety, tension, and agitation, as well as increases the feeling of relaxation and promotes good mood. At first glance, alcohol seems to be the perfect tool to fight fear and stress on the battlefield or to forget scary situations. 
That is why the practical psychologists of the CPD and the PAP started a course of lectures with practical elements on the prevention of emergencies and undesirable manifestations.
