Group work on psychological training to prevent fear and combat stress

Combat fatigue is inevitable during combat, but it is preventable for a large number of casualties. Studies show that in well-trained and cohesive units with good command, only one in ten suffers from combat stress, even in heavy fighting. This is significantly less than the usual average of one in four or five in moderate-intensity combat and one in two to three in intense combat. By knowing what tactical and general conditions contribute to the increase in combat fatigue, commanders and soldiers can take steps to reduce the impact of these factors. They should share the burden, resolve internal conflicts, build a cohesive unit and reduce stress. The same, as well as adherence to discipline and the laws of war, prevents misconduct caused by stress.

Everyone should learn at least two relaxation techniques (preferably more) that can be used when exercise is not possible. These include, for example, breathing exercises, cognitive and relaxation techniques. That is why the Centre's psychologists conduct regular group sessions to prepare and prevent combat stress to improve the condition of the assigned contingent and bring our inevitable victory closer.
